I wanted to play around with some inductors and self made transformers, so I bougth the cheapest LCR meter. It cost about 14€. No fancy autorangeing. As a positive suprice it mesaures capacitances very fast and more or less precise. The downside is that the smallest resolution in inductance it can measure is 10μH, what is most times not good enough, when designing switching regulators.
I took it apart. The insides didn't have anything very fun. Typical ebay quality. The MELF package resistor network on the right side was a bit funny but that's all.
How's things?, is anyone able to give information on free ebay software that can auto-bid just before the auction finishes? (I cannot remember what this is called. thanks
There are some out there but I think it is more useful to use buy it now button.
I'm abvout to buy one of these, luckily my typical values are in the mH range.
I bought mine a few months ago and it never truly worked. Average resistance between probes is ranging from a few ohms to a several kiloOhms depends on days. Obviously inductance and capacitance is an absurd number, based on neutrino flux. Tried to take apart, cleaning contacts and play extra maintenance with no luck. Piece of crap, better have a pizza for €14 🙂
